Best Spots To Watch Fireworks in SF Bay Area

It’s that time of the year again when bright fireworks and patriotic cheers fill the streets of America. With the Fourth of July around the corner, it helps to finalize your plans for this spectacular holiday. Planning ahead will save you from the hassle of it all. So if you’re planning to celebrate in the SF Bay Area, here are some of the best spots to watch fireworks.

1. Aquatic Park

There are a lot of activities to do in the area while you patiently wait for the fireworks. If you’re a fan of open spaces, this is the choice for you. Although some spots in the water park are reserved for VIP guests, the park is large enough for picnics, walking around, listening to music, and enjoying other festivities. Be sure to be there by mid-afternoon to secure a nice spot.

2. Pier 39

One set of the Fourth of July fireworks is launched from the barges in front of Pier 39 which makes it a suitable choice to watch fireworks.

There are a lot of spectators on the deck of Pier 39. The only downside is that there is no place to sit as it is almost always fully booked. If you arrive early, we recommend going upstairs for a closer view.

You can also watch the show from the Pier 39 restaurants. Just make sure to make your reservations ahead of time to secure good seats.

3. Cannery

The cannery has a variety of restaurants and shops. It also has a beautiful courtyard. Although not all areas offer stunning views of the fireworks, the courtyard and upper levels feature some key spots for the show.

4. Coit Tower

Nothing better than watching fireworks from one of the iconic landmarks of San Francisco. Expect great, unobstructed views from the hilltop of Coit Tower. We recommend walking here rather than driving as it will be difficult to drive around.

5. Hills Near the Golden Gate Bridge

You can also watch the fireworks from Crissy Field and Fort Point. However, expect the area to be crowded as this is a busy area during the Fourth of July.
